The legal advisor to President Thabo Mbeki and South African Sherpa for the
G8, Advocate Mojanku Gumbi, will today, 7 March 2007, meet the State Secretary
of the Germany Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and German Sherpa
of the G8, Dr Bernd Pfaffenbach, in Cape Town, Tuynhuys, Room 26, at 14h00.
This meeting will discuss, amongst others, the global economy and health
issues, with specific focus on HIV and AIDS. It is also expected that issues of
good governance as well as peace and security be prioritised during
preparations for the upcoming G8 Summit to be hosted by Germany in June under
the Growth and Responsibility theme. The government delegation will include the
Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Mandisi Mpahlwa and Minister of Finance, Mr
Trevor Manuel.
