Call for submissions on transformation of Tourism
Industry

In line with Parliament's core objective of facilitating public
participation and involvement as well as Executive Accountability, the
Portfolio Committee on Environmental Affairs and Tourism (National Assembly)
will host public hearings on Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) in the tourism
industry in mid-October 2006. The aim of the public hearings is to solicit
public input on barriers related to BEE Tourism Score Card, tourism operator,
tourism guides, job creation and infrastructure development, grading system,
skills development and employment equity.

Interested individuals and interest groups wishing to comment on the subject
of transformation of fishing industry are kindly asked to forward their written
submissions to the committee not later than Tuesday 19 September 2006.
Stakeholders who are interested in making verbal submissions before the
Committee are also requested to indicate in their submissions or contact our
office not later than Tuesday, 19 September 2006. Correspondence should be
addressed to Mr Langa Zita, Chairperson, and marked for the attention of Mr
Moses Manele, Box 15, Cape Town, 8000.
