Parliament will tomorrow, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 officially launch this
year's Youth Parliament at 9h00, V8, and Old Assembly. The three-day event is a
culmination of the Provincial Youth Parliament and serves as a consultative
forum between policy makers and youth.
Furthermore, Parliament uses this opportunity to raise awareness on issues
affecting youth such as the economic participation context of 2010 World Cup,
skill development, drug trafficking and to ensure that youth have a greater
insight into how the heart of democracy works. During this time, Members of
Parliament engage with participants around thematic areas, listen to their
views and give input and guidance to the discussions.
