A Pahad to deliver a keynote address at Africa Day
celebration

The Department of Foreign Affairs kindly invites you to be part of a
"Seminar on the Integration and Movement of People on the African continent in
Celebration of Africa Day".

The seminar will take place on:

Date: Friday, 25 May 2007
Venue: University of Johannesburg Arts Theatre
Time: 09h00 - 13h00

The keynote address will be delivered by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Mr Aziz Pahad., who will be speaking on regional integration focusing on
opportunities and challenges facing the African continent.

A message of support will be delivered by the Dean of the African Diplomatic
Corps, Dr A A Al Zubedi.

Presentations by Professor Boniface Y D Gebe, University of Ghana, on the
topic of Ghana Fifty Years on: Nkrumah's Vision of a United Africa and
Professor Tawana Kupe from the University of Witwatersrand's School of
Journalism on Africa's integration and Challenges and the Role of the Media,
will provide insights on the subjects. Musical entertainment will be provided
by schoolchildren from Bonamelo Primary School in Soweto.

The Programme Director will be Mr Dan Makokera, an experienced media
personality who has a deep passion for African issues.

Invitees include members of the diplomatic corps, organised civil society
formations, academics, members of the migrant communities based in South Africa
etc. Deputy Minister Sue van der Merwe will present a summation of the
Seminar's proceedings including the way forward.
