Environmental Affairs and Tourism to brief media

The briefing will focus on the following pieces of environmental policy and
legislation:
1. Waste Management Bill and Draft Waste Tyre Regulations
2. Biodiversity Act - Regulations (1) Threatened and Protected Species (2)
Norms and Standards for Hunting and (3) Regulations on Bio prospecting.
The legislation and regulations were approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, 6
December and Thursday, 7 December 2006 by the Minister of Environmental Affairs
and Tourism with his provincial counterparts, respectively.
