Three staff members from Hlabisa Hospital die in tragic
accident

The MEC for Health Mrs Peggy Nkonyeni, Head of Department, Dr Busi Nyembezi
and Senior Management send their deepest and heartfelt condolences to the
families of three staff members from Hlabisa Hospital that were among the seven
people killed in an accident that took place on Saturday.

The tragic accident involving a bus and a minibus taxi took place on the
route between Hlabisa and Mtubatuba. The deceased are Ms Thobile Bridget Xaba
(35) who was working at the Dental Service Department. She joined the
department in January 1996. Ms Nozipho Patience Ndlovu (39) was working as an
Enrolled Nurse and started working for the department in July 1992. Ms Dumisile
Mthethwa worked in the Rehabilitation Department and had been assigned to
Hlabisa Hospital as part of a provincial Project.

"It was with great shock and sadness to learn about the untimely death of Ms
Xaba, Ms Mthethwa and Ms Ndlovu. Our prayers go to their families and we hope
they will find strength during this difficult time," says the MEC for Health
Mrs Nkonyeni.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 26 October 2006, at the Hlabisa
Hospital chapel.
