The National Youth Commission (NYC) will be hosting more than 500 youth
delegates from all over the country in a Policy Review Convention scheduled to
take place as follows:
Venue: Emperor's Palace, Kempton Park
Date: 5-7 June 2006
Time: 14:00
Deputy President, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, will officially open the
Convention. The Minister in the Presidency, Dr Essop Pahad, will also address
the delegates on the state of youth development in South Africa.
The NYC Chairperson, Jabu Mbalula, will also speak on the research findings
of the study conducted by the NYC and some of the successes and obstacles in
the implementation of youth development initiatives and the role of youth
development institutions in South Africa since 1994.
