Deputy President Mlambo-Ngcuka to attend the Progressive
Women's Movement launch conference

Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will on Sunday, 6 August attend the
launch conference of the much awaited Progressive Women's Movement in
Bloemfontein.

The decision to form a progressive Women's Movement was taken at a
conference in Amsterdam in the Netherlands in January 1990.

The Progressive Women's Movement is a civil society formation that will
create a platform through which all progressive women structures and
individuals can actively participate in the broader development agenda of the
country.

Over 650 delegates including the Vice President of Zimbabwe as well as some
South African Female Ambassadors are expected to attend.
