Molewa to entertain kids at the forthcoming Children's Day event in
Mafikeng

The Premier of North West Province will once again host the Deputy President
Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka this Saturday, 24 June 2006. The Deputy President and
the Premier will host and entertain children as part of the Youth Month
activities. The Premier's Childrenâs Day event will be fun filled day, which
will be held at the International School of South Africa, Mafikeng.
"Children who normally do not have the opportunity to enjoy their status as
children will be entertained with games and exposed to world of childhood
upbringing.
"Children between the ages of 7 to 13 and selected in areas where they are
exposed to or live in poverty, child-headed families, those affected with HIV,
orphans etc are amongst children identified to be treated to a day of fun on
Saturday at the International School of South Africa," says Premier Molewa.
Premier Molewa says âwhilst we acknowledge that government and a number of
non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are working hard to uplift the standard
of living of children exposed to such challenges, they (children) need to have
an opportunity to live the life as children.
"The Deputy President is looking forward to entertaining the children and
enjoys the day with them as they play. We would like people to uphold our theme
titled Age of Hope, caring and protecting our children. This ties in well with
messages that government continues to convey that we need to cherish and love
our children. Children must be exposed to appropriate external stimuli to
ensure that they enjoy live, be educated so that they lead a fulfilling life as
future adults, said Premier Molewa.
The event forms part of Youth Day activities as it nears its end. The
Government values such awareness activities and calls on everybody to stamp out
abuse of children and educate children for a better future. The Deputy
President will give children gifts and entertainment for kids is galore.
