anniversary of Women in Mining and Energy

Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will address the 10th anniversary of
women in mining. This follows the presentation of a Memorandum of Commitment on
Economic Empowerment of Women by Minister Buyelwa Sonjica together with mining
and energy industries.
In this regard the Deputy President's response will be a recommitment of
government to the economic empowerment of women in the mining and energy
sectors.
The memorandum will be received earlier, at 11h00, by Dr Essop Pahad,
Minister in The Presidency on behalf of the Deputy President. The theme for the
event is "Interface between the mining and fuel charters on the 10th
anniversary of women in mining."
