The national commemorative event on World AIDS Day, 1 December 2006, will
take place in Nelspruit, at the KaNyamazane Stadium.
The international theme this year is "Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise",
emphasising commitment to implementation of programmes to curb the spread of
HIV and reduce the impact of AIDS.
The Deputy President, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, as chair of the South African
National AIDS Council (SANAC), will give the keynote address at the national
event.
