The Department of Education will on Wednesday, 5 April 2006, host the Most
Improved School Awards for 2005, at the Presidential Guesthouse in
Pretoria.
The Deputy President, Ms Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, will deliver the keynote
address at 18h00.
Through these Awards the Department of Education hopes to improve the
quality of education in our schools.
Other objectives of the awards are to:
* Recognise and acknowledge schools that are performing well and have
achieved good results
* Recognise and acknowledge schools that are showing consistent
improvement.
* Highlight success and identify possible role models in a manner that will
benefit all learners
* Recognise school that are creating a physically and psychologically safe
learning environment.
