address at the launch of the Deloitte Future Leaders Programme

21 November 2007

Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will on Thursday, 22 November
deliver a keynote address at the launch of the Deloitte future leaders
programme in Woodmead, Johannesburg. Deloitte Future leaders Apprentice
programme is an initiative, which aims to provide long-term employment
opportunities within Deloitte for around 25 graduates annually.

The purpose of the occasion will be to celebrate what the learners have
achieved to date as well as to highlight the importance of companies taking
skills development seriously. It will also be showcasing all other skills
development programmes including Project Siyakhula, the Deloitte Graduate
Academy, the CEO Boot Camp, Thusanani, Thuthuka and the Deloitte Graduate
Recruitment Programme.

The program consists of three components: mentorship, scholarship award and
customized leadership and professional development training. It also provides
scholarships through specific colleges/universities and organisations including
Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) and
National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).

Deloitte's mentorship component may also help to chip away the historical
challenges the industry has faced retaining minority accountants.
