Leadership South Africa (BLSA) Skills Initiative
28 November 2007
Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka together with Business Leadership
South Africa will tomorrow, 29 November 2007, address the media on the launch
of the Business Leadership South Africa Skills Initiative in Pretoria.
At the event, Bobby Godsell and other Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) will
on behalf of the membership of BLSA launch the "CEO Commitment on Skills".
The "CEO Commitment" is an initiative to help meet the acute skills
challenge in South Africa, with companies committing to both a vision and a
number of actions that will impact on the private sector's training and
education activities. The "CEO Commitment" is a direct response to the call by
the Deputy President for business to take the issue of skills shortage
seriously.
BLSA is an organisation comprised of Chief Executive Officers or Chairman
level executives whose members lead the 50 largest Johannesburg Stock Exchange
listed companies, the 15 multi-national investors in South Africa and State
