The Ministry of Arts and Culture invites members of media to the budget vote
speech. Minister Z Pallo Jordan and Deputy Minister Ntombazana Botha will
deliver speeches in Parliament on 2 June 2006.
The budget vote comes at a time when there are positive developments in the
arts and culture sector particularly in the film industry. This year saw the
film Tsotsi win the best foreign film award thereby putting the South African
film industry on the world map. Moreover, the anniversaries that are being
celebrated this year signify our national effort, which have brought about
freedom and democracy.
