Northern Cape Emergency Medical Services to embark on community
programmes, 21 to 29 May

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) staff will be embarking on a
number of community programmes throughout the month of May.

Programme: Maternity Information Session
Venue: Masakhane Clinic
Time: 10h00

Due to births still taking place at home, the EMS staff will be educating
pregnant women not to delay when calling an ambulance.

Date: Friday, 25 May 2007
Programme: Operation Amboula: Fires in Shantys
Venue: Lerato Park
Time: 14h00

With the onset of winter, the EMS staff will be trying to put and end to
shanty fires and poisoning due to Carbon Dioxide.

Date: Tuesday, 29 May 2007
Programme: Operation Numbers
Venue: Roodepan: Eagle Street Shantys
Time: 10h00

Unmarked houses cause a delay in emergency response times. EMS staff will
thus be proactive and are going to mark a number of houses to make their job
easier.
