Parliament celebrations taking place on 2-3 May 2007 in Mafikeng in the North
West. The theme for this year's celebration is "Legislative Sector Protecting
Workers' Rights."
You are cordially invited to workshops. Please RSVP as soon as possible as
space is limited

The thematic areas under discussion in the workshops are as follows:
* the casualisation of the labour force
* challenges faced by domestic workers
* the rights of the illiterate and farms labourers in the workforce
* the impact of unemployment and affirmative action vs economic growth in the
North West.
Stakeholders expected are the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and
Arbitration (CCMA), Department of Labour, Congress of South African Trade
Unions (COSATU) and its affiliates especially mining, non-COSATU affiliated
unions such as Solidarity and Popcru, the Legislature's National Education,
Health and Allied Workers' Union (NEHAWU) branch, Commission for Gender
Equality (CGE), Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), National African Federated
Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC), South African Chamber of Business (SACOB), the
Labour Court and the National Economic Development and Labour Council
(Nedlac).

30 April 2007 at 12h30. Due to the public holidays, late RSVPs cannot be
accepted as accommodation has to be confirmed by 16h00 on 30 April 2007.
Please indicate when you RSVP whether you will be attending the Sectoral
Parliament only on the 3 May 2007 or whether you will be attending both days.
Please can you indicate on your RSVP whether you will require accommodation or
not. Please also note that we will not be providing transport, only
accommodation and meals for media outside the Central District Municipality
only. Unfortunately, no exception can be made in this regard.
