North West Portfolio Committee to hold public hearing on Electricity
Regulation Amendment Bill, 12 Mar

Portfolio committee invites members of the public, interested
and affected parties to attend the public hearing

The Portfolio Committee on Developmental Local Government and Housing
invites members of the public, interested and affected parties to attend the
Public Hearing on the Electricity Regulation Amendment Bill [20b-2006], Section
76 Bill. In terms of Section (118) (1) (a) of the Constitution, Act 108 of
1996, a provincial legislature must facilitate public involvement in the
legislative and other processes of the legislature and its committees.

The Bill seeks to amend the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006, so as to
insert certain definitions, to make certain textual corrections, to insert a
new chapter dealing with electricity reticulation by municipalities, and to
extend the Minister's powers to make regulations and to provide for matters
connected therewith.

Venue: The Stone Conference Centre�Rooigrond (18 kilometres out of Mafikeng
towards Lichtenburg)

Interested parties can collect copies of the Bill at the North West
Provincial Legislature.
