June is Youth Development Month. During this time the National Youth
Commission (NYC) co-ordinates a national programme to commemorate the Soweto
Uprisings of 16 June 1976. It also leads initiatives to celebrate the
milestones and opportunities presented by the democratic order.
A media briefing will be held to announce the plans for the month of June
which will be implemented with various stakeholders including Provincial Youth
Commissions (PYC) and government departments.
Members of the media are invited to a briefing which will be scheduled as
follows:

Venue: Devonshire Hotel, Johannesburg
The NYC will also introduce its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer to
members of the media.
The NYC Chairperson, Nomi Nkondlo, will address the media briefing.
