The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) can confirm receipt of a matter
relating to the "Sasol blast." The matter is being handled by the office of the
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for the Transvaal Local Division
(Pretoria).
The matter is quite voluminous in that it is contained in 11 arch-lever
files. We envisage that the DPP's office will take a few months to go through
it and thereafter take a decision on whether or not to prosecute. Such a
decision will likely be taken before the end of the year.
Before such a decision is taken we shall not be able to delve into the
merits of the report or make any comments about it.
