National Prosecuting Authority to host human trafficking press
conference, 3 Oct

You are invited to attend a press conference that will be hosted as part of
the proceedings of the "Global Inter-faith Dialogue: What the Religious
Community can do to combat human trafficking." The dialogue is co-convened by
the most Reverend Archbishop of Cape Town, Njongonkulu WH Ndungane (Patron) and
Mr Antonio Maria Costa, the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on
Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

In addition to the dialogue, other activities include inter-faith service
and impact march in colour against human trafficking. The activities will be
held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre and the Saint George's
Cathedral from 3 to 5 October 2007. This Global Inter-Faith Dialogue is jointly
convened by the Most Reverend Archbishop of Cape Town, Njongonkulu WH Ndungane
and Mr Antonio Maria Costa, the Executive Director of the UNODC in partnership
with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) of South Africa, the Africa
Prosecutor's Association (APA), National Religious Leaders Forum and the
Inter-Departmental Management Team (IDMT) of the Government of South Africa as
part of the latter's 365 days programme and National Action Plan to engage and
mobilise Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), amongst others, the faith-based
organisations (FBOs) to provide normative moral leadership in the fight towards
confronting, combating and ending violence against women and children,
gender-based violence and trafficking in persons.
