North West MEC Rasmeni interacts with nursing colleges and
provincial programmes on AIDS

22 November 2006

The purpose of the visit was to allow these stakeholders to raise concerns,
challenges and achievements so as to come up with mechanisms of how best those
challenges can be addressed to have a proper running of these programmes. Key
to this interaction was to listen to the suggestions, concerns, views and
comments in order to improve the relationship and to plan better going
forward.

Other up coming visits are scheduled as follows:
* 28 November 2006 Southern District
* dates for other districts will be communicated in due course.

"Some of challenges outlined here, I will make sure that some receive
immediate response from the Department and others will be addressed in the next
financial year so that we can run the programmes smoothly, particularly
Provincial Council On Aids which is supposed to be the core programme running
HIV and AIDS and I believe some of challenges raised have a negative running of
this programme and I should applaud our care givers who have put their lives at
risks since they are taking care of people who are terminally ill," concluded
MEC Nomonde Rasmeni.

Members of the media are invited to attend and capture this sessions.
