In May 2007, the Minister of Education, Mrs. Naledi Pandor appointed a

senior certificate examinations, to answer the question: What enables some
schools to succeed where others in similar situations fail.
* Identify conditions under which schools operate successfully
* Investigate the alignment of the department policies and requirements with
the practice of these succeeding schools
* Document and determine whether there were replicable lessons that can be
applied to other less successful schools.

(Chairperson), Dr. Dawn Butler, Mr. Mark Potterton, Prof Aslam Fataar, Dr
Heather Jacklin, Prof Lebo Moletsane, Dr Francine de Clerq, Dr Hersheela Narsee
