Co-operative Education (SASCE) 2006 International Conference

The Minister of Education, Mrs Naledi Pandor, MP, will on Tuesday, 18 April
2006, at 09h00 deliver the keynote address at the Southern African Society for
Co-operative Education (SASCE) International Conference at the Riviera
International Hotel in Vereeniging.
The SASCE is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping interested
individuals and institutions to integrate academic studies with quality
experiential learning (also known as work integrated learning) in the real
world of work.
SASCE is a member of the World Association for Co-operative Education
(WACE), an international organisation devoted to promoting Work-Integrated
Learning (WIL) programmes worldwide. The organisation hosts biennial
international conferences.
The conference will focus on the important role that work integrated
learning can play in the development of our global work force towards
contributing to the alleviation of unemployment around the world.
The theme of the conference is quality Work Integrated Learning (WIL).
Topics for discussion include amongst others:
* Work integrated learning quality process
* Work integrated learning meeting higher education requirements
* Work integrated learning quality partnerships
The conference will bring together academics both the South African
departments of Education and Labour for discussions on the development of the
future workforce.
