Implementation in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) conference, at 14h00,
and valedictory service for Pretoria High School for Girls at 19h00, both in
Pretoria, tomorrow, Thursday, 5 October 2006

The Minister of Education, Mrs Naledi Pandor (MP) will tomorrow, 5 October
2006, at 14h00, address the Language Policy Implementation in HEIs conference
at the Senate Hall, Muckleneuk Campus, University of South Africa (Unisa), in
Pretoria.
The overall aims and objectives for the conference are to:
* provide a consultative platform towards identifying the key issues that
underpin the implementation of language policies at HEIs
* reach consensus on the key issues and principles for the implementation of
language policies at HEIs
* map and clarify the transitional actions and arrangements needed
* plan a strategy that will assist HEIs to move on language policy
implementation
At 19h00, the Minister will address the Valedictory Service for Pretoria
High School for Girls, scheduled to take place at the Pretoria High School for
Girls, Park Street, Arcadia, in Pretoria.
On this occasion, grade 12 learners and many other learners receive subject
prizes and other awards in recognition of their service and achievements.
