All media is cordially invited to a press conference that will mark the
signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the above mentioned
departments.
The press conference is scheduled to take place as follows:
Date: 13 February 2006 (Monday)
Venue: Building No. 5, 2nd Floor Foyer
Riverside Government Complex
Time: 10H00
The Memorandum of Understanding will amongst other things regulate the
following:
* The responsibility of the two departments for physical education and
school sport
* The development and capacity building of learners to participate in extra
mural and competitive school sport programmes.
* To ensure that educators, coaches, community volunteers deliver quality
school sport programmes that will lead to lifelong participation in sport
* To enhance the management and utilization of both school and community
libraries.
The MEC for Mpumalanga Department of Education Mr Siphosezwe Masango and MEC
for the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation Ms Nomsa Mtsweni will host
the press conference.
