Gauteng MEC Housing, Nomvula Mokonyane, together with members of the
Sedibeng district municipality will tomorrow launch the Evaton Renewal Focus
Week. The launch is aimed at assessing progress made in the Evaton Renewal
Programme as well as showcasing Evaton Township to potential investors.
The inspection of this project will look at the priority areas of land
acquisition, upgrading of houses and waste management. Evaton was chosen by the
provincial government as the site that required regeneration because it
symbolised the reality of black townships with low economic activity.
