Xhu and Khwe community in the Northern Cape

The Minister of Home Affairs, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, will hand over
more than 200 identity documents (IDs) to the Xhu and Khwe community in the
Northern Cape on Monday.
Most of the community members could not access government services and other
socio-economic opportunities due to lack of IDs, birth certificates and
relevant documentation.
Amongst others, the Minister will witness community members exchanging vows.
Ms Mapisa-Nqakula will then present marriage certificates.
In addition, the Minister will use this opportunities to avail the Home
Affairs services at the venue where the community will be afforded an
opportunity to apply for IDs, birth certificates, death certificates, passports
and other Home Affairs services.
