N Jajula to open Career Exhibition, 22 Aug

Department to host career exhibition

16 August 2006

MEC for the Eastern Cape Department of Health, Mrs Nomsa Jajula will be
officially opening a career exhibition to be held at the Victoria Grounds
Stadium in King Williams Town, 22 August 2006 at 10h00.

The Department will be hosting the exhibition in collaboration with the
Department of Education. The exhibition is another attempt by the Department to
reach out to students and unemployment. The health institutions have vacancies
in various fields of study that have been identified to make the institutions
function effectively and efficiently. According to the Department the challenge
is that some of the fields of study are not known as students have no
information.

The target group is the most disadvantaged high school students from grades
10, 11 and 12 who are doing Science, Biology and Mathematics. The Department
offers bursaries in health related fields on an annual basis. These bursaries
are mainly for students who reside within the Eastern Cape province. Download
the application forms from http://www.ecdoh.gov.za/career_opportunities/bursaries
or get them at the bursary offices at the Global Life Building, Office 5 and 6
in Bhisho, Mthatha, East London, Port Elizabeth and Queenstown Hospital
Complexes. The closing date for applications is 31 October 2006.
