innovative website which will make health info available to the public
online

Information about health services, departmental vacancies, programmes,
annual reports and operational plans will now be available to the public online
when Health MEC Nomsa Jajula launches the new innovative website for the
department at the East London Health Resource Centre on 7 December 2006.
The website has been developed to connect the public with the department 24
hours a day and facilitate interactive, two way communication both within the
department and with the public. This will create opportunities for the public
to access information about the department online.
Finding forms, reports, news, departmental vacancies, calendar of events and
information about diseases will be available on the site http://www.ecdoh.gov.za. Through a service index,
people unfamiliar with the departmental services will quickly find information
they are looking for by subject.
The website features clear navigation, more focused content and a cleaner
user interface for enhanced usability. Enhanced search capabilities will allow
users to search news, health statistics and other information on the site. It
links with national ministry, provincial departments and other stakeholders in
the health field.
The website has already received a number of enquiries relating to
Bursaries, contact details and Vacancies from foreigners and within the
country. The aim is to attract health professionals working in foreign
countries. The launch starts at 10h00 at the East London Health Resource
centre.
