As part of the celebrations of Womenâs Month and commemoration of the 50th
anniversary of the womenâs march in 1956, Deputy Minister for Provincial and
Local Government, Nomatyala Hangana will address Women in Local Government
Conference on 28 August 2006 in Port Elizabeth.
The conference themed: âAge of Hope through Struggle to Freedomâ will, among
other things, assess the outcomes of the local government elections and explore
ways of ensuring effective participation of women in decision-making
processes.
With the conference taking place in Port Elizabeth recently hit by floods,
delegates in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will during
their stay in the district look at ways in which they can help families left
destitute by these devastating floods.
We therefore wish to extend our invitation to all members of the media to be
part of this celebration.
