States of America (USA) Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice

New York: South African Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will
today Friday, 28 September, hold bilateral political and economic discussions
with her USA counterpart Dr Condoleezza Rice in New York.
Minister Dlamini Zuma assumed the reigns of leadership of the South African
delegation to the 62nd session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly to
discuss the world's response to climate change, Millennium Development Goals
(MDGs) reform of the UN system and counter-terrorism.
The meeting with Dr Rice is part of a series of bilateral discussions
scheduled for Minister Dlamini Zuma with a number of her counterparts on the
margins of the 62nd Session of the UN General Assembly.
In this regard other planned bilateral include meetings with:
* British Minister for Africa, Asia and the UN, Lord Malloch-Brown
* Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi
* Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abou El Gheit
* Ethiopian Foreign Minister Seyoum Mesfin
Minister Dlamini Zuma is further scheduled to attend a number of
multilateral meetings in New York on Friday including:
* Commonwealth Ministerial committee on Guyana
* Ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Co-coordinating Bureau
* Commonwealth Foreign Ministers meeting.
