Minister Dlamini Zuma concludes visit to Tokyo ahead of talks
in Washington

Tokyo: South African Foreign Minister, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, today, 6
December 2006, concluded her four–day working visit to Japan.

Minister Dlamini Zuma's visit to Tokyo came within the context of
strengthening political and economic relations with Japan, promoting the
Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative for South Africa (AsgiSA) and ensuring
job creation for the majority of South Africans.

Whilst in Tokyo, Minister Dlamini Zuma met with former Prime Ministers Mori
and Koizumi, her counterpart Minister Taro Aso and government senators.
Minister Dlamini Zuma also met with the Japan Bank for International
Co-operation and Japan External Trade Organisation. A declaration of intent
with the Japan Bank for International Co-operation was signed that will foster
closer co-operation with South African institutions such as Eskom, Transnet and
Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) for infrastructure development.

Minister Dlamini Zuma concluded her visit by meeting with the
Secretary-General of the Japan Football Association, Mr Kohzo Tashima, since
Japan hosted the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Minister Dlamini Zuma departs Tokyo for the Unites States (US) ahead of
President Mbeki's bilateral meeting with President Bush.
