London - South African Foreign Minister, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will
later today depart London for South Africa ahead of her participation at the
75th annual District Convention of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa in
Mount Frere on Sunday, 29 April 2007.
Whilst in London, Minister Dlamini Zuma co-hosted with her Jamaican
counterpart, Minister Anthony Hylton the African Union (AU) - Caribbean
Diaspora Conference which took place from the 24 to 25 April 2007.The London
conference was part of a series of regional consultative conferences that are
being held in various regions of the diaspora with a view to consolidating
preparations for the Ministerial and summit of the diaspora to be held in South
Africa in the first quarter of 2008.
The regional conference in London addressed important issues that impact on
Africa and the diaspora in the United Kingdom (UK) such as developing and
sharing skills in education, technology and training, economic and health
co-operation, gender equality, the combating of the scourge of human
trafficking and international affairs, peace and security.
Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to return to South Africa on Friday, 27
April 2007.
