You are invited to a launch ceremony of the inaugural Corrections Week of
the Department of Correctional Services by Minister Ngconde Balfour at Boksburg
Correctional Centre on 21 September 2006.
Minister Balfour will unveil a programme of the Corrections Week set for 25
â 29 September 2006 that includes the celebration of the department's pockets
of excellence and the mobilisation of all social partners to lend their weight
behind efforts to overcome many challenges facing the delivery of correctional
services in South Africa.
Launch details are as follows:

Venue: Boksburg Correctional Centre, Ekurhuleni Municipal Area in Gauteng
Activities: Minister Balfour will lead an entourage of leaders of government,
business, labour, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and faith-based
organisation (FBOs) in touring the centre and its factory before unveiling a
programme of the first ever Corrections Week of the department.
Your presence and coverage of the occasion will be highly appreciated as a
contribution in efforts to turn around the country's correctional system into
one of the world's best improving public safety.
