Committee meeting
7 March 2007
The Department of Local Government and Housing will hold a two day Special
Project Consolidate Steering Committee meeting. The objective of the meeting is
to take stock of the achievements that have been made during the two year
hands-on intervention of Project Consolidate. It will also look at the
challenges that have been faced and try to find ways of addressing these
challenges within the context of the Five Year Local Government Strategic
Agenda. The meeting will also look at ways of ensuring that the lessons learnt
from Project Consolidate are migrated to the Five Year Local Government
Strategic Agenda.
Part of the deliberations that will also take place will be the assessment
of the progress made by the three districts in implementing the resolutions
taken during the Presidential Izimbizo in 2005 and 2006. Challenges in
implementing these resolutions will be identified and categorised and
stakeholders identified to address them.
