Gauteng MEC for Education Angie Motshekga will host an Education Summit on
Saturday, 21 April 2007.
The Summit at Sedibeng District is the first in a series of three Education
Summits focused on Gauteng's underperforming schools. It is being held in
response to Premier Mbhazima Shilowa's concern towards underperforming schools,
which is shared by Gauteng Education MEC Angie Motshekga.
The Provincial Education Summit hosted on the 24 March 2007 at Wembly
Stadium in Johannesburg got responses and commitments from educators, staff,
learners, parents and all stakeholders to actively ensure that all
underperforming schools in Gauteng drastically improve their performance.
