Zokwana in his election as the President of the International Federation of
Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Union

The President of the National Union of Mine Workers, Mr Senzeni Zokwana was
elected the President of the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine
and General Union last week. His election was at a conference where 840 union
leaders from 75 countries met. The Minister of Minerals and Energy, Ms Buyelwa
Sonjica said." The government and the people of South Africa congratulate the
President of the National Union of Mine Workers, Mr Senzeni Zokwana on his
election to this prestigious post.
"This is recognition of all efforts of South Africa in recognising worker's
rights. This is also an indication of the kind of confidence that South Africa
as a country enjoys amongst its peers. The Department of Minerals and Energy
therefore, would like to recognise this appointment and encourage Mr Zokwana in
taking further the responsibilities attached to this post."
