Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi and Deputy Minister Pam Tshwete hand over homes to beneficiaries in Motherwell, 21 Nov

Human Settlements Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi and Deputy Minister Pam Tshwete, will tomorrow (Tuesday, 21 November 2023) hand over newly built homes and title deeds to beneficiaries at Motherwell in Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan, Eastern Cape. They will joined by the Deputy Executive Mayor of the Metro, Cllr Babalwa Lobishe.

To date, 73 government-subsidised homes have been complete and are ready for handover, as part of the NU30 Informal Settlements Upgrade Project which is  expected to yield 200 new homes upon completion. The visit is part of the coordinated effort amongst the three spheres of government to effect province-wide interventions to accelerate the delivery of sustainable human settlements.

The Ministerial delegation  will handover keys to new homeowners and title deeds  at the Raymond Mhlaba Sports Complex, as part of the Title Deeds Restoration programme that was launched by Minister Kubayi in Gauteng last month. The visit will conclude with a community imbizo to address concerns on human settlements-related matters.
