MEC Madoda Sambatha hosts stakeholder briefing to give progress on decommissioning of Thusong District Hospital
The North West Department of Health MEC, Madoda Sambatha will hosts a stakeholders briefing session to give progress on decommissioning of Thusong Hospital in Ditsobotla Local Municipality. On the 14 January 2022 the MEC for Health ordered closure the facility as a results of an unexplained heat coming from the hospital floor which posed safety risk to employees and patients.
The infrastructure conditions has been in a total disrepair despite efforts to maintain the hospital due the dolomitic soil which was causing major structural cracks and suspected to be responsible for the mysterious heat.
The MEC will be briefing stakeholders including the Traditional Council and Health Portfolio Committee as follows:
