Minister David Mahlobo opens State Security Cybersecurity Conference, 2 Nov

The Minister of State Security, David Mahlobo will on Monday 2 November 2015 deliver an opening address at the State Security Cybersecurity Conference in Pretoria.

  • The four day conference will be attended, on the first two days, by government departments and state owned entities and by private sector companies and academia on the last two days.
  • The aim of the conference is to map out progress that has been made with regards to policy development and implementation and to define areas of collaboration and partnerships with the private sector.

Among areas of collaboration and partnership, is the question of skills development and training as well as civic education and awareness on matters that affect the public.

The State Security Agency is tasked, in terms of the Cabinet approved Cybersecurity Policy Framework, with coordinating government’s response to matters of cybersecurity.

The details of the event are as follows:

Time: 07h00 – 09h000    
Venue: Diep in die Berg, Pretoria East

NB: Media is only allowed access on day 1 of the conference, between the times as indicated here above. Door stop media interviews will be conducted from 09h00 to 11h00.  Day 2 of the conference will be a closed session. Media is then welcome on the 3rd and 4th days.

Accreditation:
Media wishing to attend must kindly complete the attached accreditation form and return it by no later than 12h00, on Thursday 29 October 2015.
           
Accreditation cards will be collected only on the opening day of the conference, upon producing positive identification. No access will be granted to the conference without accreditation.
