Minister Blade Nzimande addresses Inaugural Oceans Economy Skills Summit 2021, 24 Feb

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, will deliver an address at the Inaugural Ocean Economy Skills Summit 2021 on Wednesday, 24th February 2021 in Johannesburg.

The summit provides a platform for all strategic partners, including government, institutions of learning and the private sector, to engage and assist in the establishment of a solid foundation upon which the country is able to unlock its maritime potential.

The National Development Plan identifies the potential of the Ocean Economy as one of the industries that can contribute to unlocking the country’s economic growth, and help eliminate poverty and reduce inequality in South Africa by 2030.

The summit aims to facilitate strategic conversations on some of the interventions and community engagements to create linkages between political and economic transformation as well as skills development.
