George Hospital, which has been revitalised to provide the highest quality
of health care in the province, will be officially opened on Friday, 30 June
2006.

The event will start at 9h00 with a tour around the hospital. The Minister
will then deliver a keynote address at 11am.

The Minister's address will coincide with the official release of the Report
on the deaths of babies at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in the past three
years.

The report will be released by the Director-General, Mr Thami Mseleku in
Durban on Friday, at 11h00.

In her address, the Minister will outline improvements to Makiwane Hospital
and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital, to promote high quality patient care.

The media is invited to the opening of the George Hospital at 9h00.
