(MTM) health professionals' bursary award

11 Students from disadvantaged communities of South Africa will receive the
MTM bursary award during a gala event to be held at Redisson Hotel, Waterfront
at Cape Town on Saturday, 9 September 2006.
The bursary has been named after the Minister of Health, Dr Manto
Tshabalala-Msimang, to assist students with potential to realise their goals of
achieving health professional qualifications through sponsorship.
This is the second group to receive the bursaries since the inception of the
bursary in March 2000. The initial group of 18 bursary students were selected
in 2001 and 2002 with a 95% pass rate in the first year.
The Minister of Health will deliver a keynote address.
