Premier to kick start construction of new hospital in
Soweto

Gauteng Premier Mbhazima Shilowa will tomorrow, Tuesday, 5 June 2007, take
part in a sod turning ceremony to mark the start of the construction of the new
Jabulani Hospital in Soweto. The hospital was originally planned to be built at
the site of the Zola Clinic but was relocated to its present site due to
inadequate bulk services and access routes around Zola.

The new hospital will alleviate pressure on Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital
which is the only public hospital serving Soweto including Eldorado Park,
Lenasia and Orange Farm. Details are as follows:
