Members of the media are invited to the official handing over of the 2004
election atlas by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to Gauteng Premier
Mbhazima Shilowa on Monday, 23 January 2006. The atlas provides a graphic
illustration of electoral behaviour in the country and will serve as a useful
resource for the provincial government.
The atlas shows, among others, voting age population density, registration
statistics, votersâ roll growth, voter turnout, party support, leading party by
voting district and comparisons between national and provincial results in the
April 2004 elections.
