The construction of the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link will begin in earnest on
Thursday after the finalisation of negotiations.
The Gauteng Provincial Government has finalised negotiations and will sign
the Concession Agreement with Bombela Concessionaire for the construction,
operations and maintenance of the Gautrain Project. In addition, the branding
for the Gautrain will also be unveiled.
Premier Mbhazima Shilowa and Transport Minister Jeff Radebe will preside
over a sod-turning ceremony to mark the start of construction of the
project.
Journalists are invited to the event that will start at 10h00 in Sandton at
the Gautrain Marlboro Station site, at the corner of Far East Bank Drive and
Marlboro Road (off Far East Bank drive) Marlboro, Sandton.
