The Department of Local Government and Housing, in collaboration with the
Department of Water affairs and Forestry and South African Local Government
Association, will be hosting a Provincial Sanitation Symposium on the 22-23
February 2007.
The main objective of the symposium is to come up with strategies that will
ensure acceleration towards providing appropriate sanitation facilities to the
citizens of Limpopo.
The symposium will explore how best to use new technologies and incorporate
the participation of communities to promote awareness on issues like
hygiene.
The MEC for Local Government and Housing Maite Nkoana-Mashabane as a
custodian of basic service delivery in Limpopo will be among the speakers on
the opening day.
