Ulundi Agricultural and Industrial Show

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Environmental Affairs Mtholephi
Mthimkhulu will today Thursday, 11 October officiate at the Ulundi Agricultural
and Industrial Show in which both established and developing farmers will be
partaking.

The Agricultural and Industrial Show is an annual event in the calendar of
the department's events in the Zululand District and several hundreds
exhibitors will be showcasing their wares to the public. MEC Mthimkhulu will
also deliver a keynote address during the show where he will be highlighting
some of the poverty-alleviation projects the Departments have funded within the
Ulundi-Mahlabathini District.

Some of the projects, in all totalling more than a R1 million, include
massification projects such as beans and maize, piggery, poultry, indigenous
goat and livestock projects, eradication of invasive alien weed as well as
irrigation projects. More than 18 000 locals are benefiting from the
aforementioned programmes.

The Agricultural Show will also be attended by the local mayors and the
Chairperson of the Zululand District House of Traditional Leaders, Inkosi MG
Buthelezi who is also the President of the annual Agricultural and Industrial
Show.
