Ekurhuleni: Department of Transport Director-General, Mpumi Mpofu will
deliver a keynote address at the launch of the Southern African Owner Drivers
Empowerment Federation (SAODEF), women in transport initiative.
The event will be undertaken jointly with the re-launch of ABSA/Industrial
Development Corporation (IDC) Vehicle and Finance Scheme. The launch will
assist the department in fostering partnerships with the private sector to
enable an effective operational environment for freight and rail through
involvement of communities.
The focus of the launch is to empower women in the transport industry,
especially in freight and rail. The details of the event are as follows:
